vacation

we just got back and had a great time! we left thursday afternoon and after 9 hours of driving we finally arrived at the hawkins' cabin. it wasn't supposed to take that long, but with babies...things take MUCH longer! we had to stop probably about 5 times...feed, change dirty diapers or attend to a screaming cole! we arrived to their cabin and were greeted by margy, adam and haley hawkins...now this "cabin" isn't what i call a cabin - it was beautiful! way nicer then my house. we quickly settled in and off to bed the kids went...oh and margy and i as well - margy is 7 mon prego...so she was pretty tired! the boys stayed up, went in the hot-tub and caught up. we woke up the next morning at the crack of dawn - courtsey of cole...shortly after, we headed out for a walk on the trails...so beautiful...we saw 2 deer about 10 or so feet from us...this place was amazing...they have a huge pool with fountains, exercise room, tennis court, gosh what else - it was so nice - they had this huge playground area for kids too - jade loved that! so anyways, after the walk we all got ready and headed into sisters, OR - cutest little town ever...we had some lunch at this cute little deli/restaurant...and then walked around the town...tasted some fudge along the way...then we headed home to meet blair (adam's bro) who decided to come in from portland...saturday we were headed to the sisters rodeo- got all ready, parked and went to go buy tickets - but they were sold out! so we headed into bend, or for some lunch. this is where we had a little jade scare - she was eating a tortilla chip and it some how got lodged in her throat and she started to choke - now this was the bad choking - where there is no sound - it scared pretty much the whole restaurant - adam, blair, joe and i all jumped up - joe was about two seconds from giving her the heimlich (?), adam was just about ready to tip her upside down...oh gosh...it was scary...anyways, she ended up throwing up and all was fine - she cried for just about 2 min and we were back to normal..ahhh...i swear...i am getting a bit tired of these scares - first the falling from the crib and now choking! ahhhh....after our late lunch - we were there quite awhile..it was a brewery so the guys got a sampler, which they took FOREVER in drinking - i swear all the analyzing they did over these little shots of beer...ha! saturday night we layed low - sunday we got up and left...this time it only took 6 hours to get home - thank goodness. we had such a great time - i wish the hawkins lived closer - jade just loved haley - she is so lovey....jade is 2 1/2 mon younger then haley - haley is just a little talker too - seems to be advanced...anyways, we are hoping to do something like this every year...keep the kids close so they grow up together...
