weekend recap

this past weekend was a busy one. started out with my b-day on 8/8/08 (friday), joe took the day off and my mom came up to take me out to lunch and spend the day with me. we (my mom, andra and I) had lunch at the dahlia lounge, which is one of the famous nw chef's, tom douglas' restaurants, it was good, but over-rated. the food was expensive, sounded good on the menu, but not near what it should have tasted. we ended with his famous coconut creme pie...which was very tasty indeed, but no 1st place. we are glad we went, but probably won't go again....on our way home we stopped by trophy cupcakes in wallingford to bring back...see jade thought it was her b-day all day long and requested that we bring cupcakes home for her...she was so excited when we walked through the door with them....she even blew out the candle like it was her b-day...ah what the heck, huh?!
that night joe and i headed back into seattle and ate at one of our fav's...joey's on lake union. we had wonderful service (unlike the last time) and great food...it ended a wonderful day. thanks to all the b-day wishes, cards and emails!!
saturday i had one of the first of many training sessions at starbucks corporate...this one was how to be a good learning coach...although, it was nice learning more about starbucks guiding principles etc., the material is a little too redudent for me...me being older and out in the workforce before i feel some of the training sessions are geared to first time supervisors...anyways, it is over and done with....we followed up the day with target and grocery shopping...oh how fun! sunday we spent a couple of hours at st edwards again...the kids love that park, a realtor stopped by to show our house and that's about it...now we are on tuesday and nothing has happened in between...except today is the first day that jade is wearing big girl underwear...the real thing...she peed earlier in the morning in them and cried and cried, so i am hoping this afternoon will be a different story...we have to be close...i think!
