waiting game

not sure if many know, but joe had a final interview last tuesday. it went well and friday night they called and want to check references. no mention of an offer, but after the final interview, the GM did tell him that he was a strong candidate and that he would fit in very well there...so...this must mean he is pretty close! joe gave his references on saturday and i believe they have started to call them...so we should know whether he got it by the end of this week...let's cross our fingers. the only reason joe started to look elsewhere is because of $$...if his current company can match, then he will stay. so we could have some major changes in the near future. this also means i might have to give up my starbucks job, which i REALLY don't want too...i am hoping my boss will let me work one or two of the weekend jobs. i really enjoy working there and love coffee (discount)...but if it doesn't work out...oh well...
this weekend my parents came back from hawaii and stopped by on their way home...which was like a bit of a tease for little jade, cause they didn't stay long. she cried and cried when they left. they brought lots of good treats though, which she loves! after that, joe and jade had a little father/daughter time and went to the library and hung out...i guess jade loved it, but was too busy to sit down and read a book. sunday i worked all day - poor joe had the day from hell - i guess both kids were majorly whiney and wouldn't take naps...he called me frustrated a few times...i then asked him if he wanted to re-think his proposition about being a stay-at-home dad...ha!
two more days and sally comes out! we are looking forward to her visit!! we have lots planned - hopefully sally is up for it! i am sure she is! and then i am hoping my mom comes out the following week....well i better go and start cleaning this pit of a house before sally comes!
