i had been looking forward to this weekend for a long time...my mom was coming up for a few days, she was going to babysit the kids while joe and i had a v-day night, then on sunday we were going to have a little b-day party for andra....well things didn't work out quite as smoothly as i anticipated. it all started thursday...cole came down with another cold...dang it, thought we had gotten rid of it...now comes friday, jade starts getting it...now two kids with nasty nasty colds...friday night...up half the night, with cole...saturday arrives my mom is in town - hoorah! joe and i had made reservations at this cute little italian restaurant in kirkland...recommended by my neighbor. we put cole too bed, jade and mom hang out for awhile...we go and have a wonderful night out...good food, wine and ambiance...perfect few hours...we come home, cole is up, jade in bed...cole's cough is very bad and he is starting to tug on his ear...ahhhh! we finally get him settled down and in his crib at 11pm...1am, cole wakes up, 4am jade is up with a terrible cough and she wet her bed...ahhh...well to make this long dragged out story short...my mom and i took the kids to the doc today and cole has pneamonia and a double ear infection, jade has a severe right ear infection - WHAT? WHAT?????? i couldn't believe it!!! first time ever both of them have gotten sick...i guess i am very lucky on that aspect...ahhh...talk about immediate stress...but i love my doctor and she reassured that everything will be fine. both on antibiotics...we got back in a week for a re-check...wow! and wouldn't you know...i am coming down with another nasty cold! i swear! but in between all this, and during the kids naps, my mom and i did a bit of shopping and put together a b-day dinner for andra...so there were some nice times in there.
so we start this week off kinda rough...but now i am sure it will get better! this weekend we are supposed to our neighbors over for dinner...we have had to cancel a few times, so i sure hope we don't have to do that again...ahhh...of course, they understand...but still...
oh also, today is garbage day...and joe put the garbage can out...well it's missing now? weird, huh? so is our neighbors...we are both dumbfounded...ha ha!
oh gosh, better go check on my baby cole...he's a coughing...really hard...i swear i grimace every time...it sounds horrible!
here is going through memory lane on valentines day...first pic, jade 1 month, second pic, jade 1 year (cole arrives just weeks later), 3rd valentine pic...cole 11 months, jade 25 months. time goes so fast!

Oh Erin, I am so sorry to hear the kids are sick....Glad you were able to have a good V-Tines Dinner out! The girls got Jade's Valentine they LOVED it and taped it to their bedroom wall! So cute! Hope you have a good week!
What a crazy sounding weekend. I'm sorry to hear about Cole and Jade, it sucks so bad when the kids are sick it's like instant stressor which always makes it hard to feel good yourself. I hope everyone is on the up and up and that you have a good week.
sorry to hear the kids are so sick. I hope they get better soon. Its so hard to have sick kids and be sick yourself. Im glad you got to have a nice date and that your mom was there to help.

Bummer about the sickness. That is no fun. Give them lots of vitamin C. THe best thing about being sick when you are a kid is the 7 up and the popcicles. I hope you are all healthy soon.
