my first close

last night i closed the store as supervisor for the first time...a bit stressed i was...which may sound silly, but it's a new thing and i wanted to make sure and do well. anyways, all was going really smoothly, that is until a customer came in at 8pm, right when we close, and wanted me to call all the stores practically in the eastside to look for a coffee maker that she had to buy TONIGHT (for a b-day gift)! ahhh...so it through all my timing off...needless to say, no one had what she was looking for....talk about waiting till the last minute. i quickly locked the doors after she left and started with closing all the tills and counting the safe...AHHHHHh...i was over 22 bucks, WHAT? so i counted twice, nothing different....talk about stressing me out...we cannot be over or under...anyways, called my friend, who happens to be the asst manager, and told her, she said not to worry she would fix in the morning...ugh...i still didn't like to leave it that way. anyways, i quickly did the rest of the tasks and got out 4 mins after 9, which is okay (we are supposed to be locked up by 9pm)....so believe it or not, i fretted all night about that stupid 22 bucks and couldn't sleep...my friend just texted and she found the mistake...ahhh...oh well. hopefully, friday night will go a bit more smoothly. i know this will add a bit more stress for a couple of months till i get used to everything, but hmmm....i wish i wouldn't lose sleep over this!
