long tiring week, but busy

finally friday! this week has been very long for both joe and i (probably the kids too). joe has been putting in super long hours, not getting home till 8pm. poor guy, but poor me too - ha ha...just joking. i didn't have to work that much this week (only one day), so that worked out well. joe has been kicking off two major projects at work which requires a lot of prep work and presentations to the higher ups - so that's why the long nights. and in the midst of these long days, he interviewed with costco...and it went well and he has a second interview on tuesday. he is interviewing for a PM job within Costco Travel...new branch of costco, so the PMO office would be brand new, starting out with joe's position. the position sounds interesting, but of course there are pros and cons. we will see...
the kids have been great this week. i got cole on a new schedule...we had been battling naps, but i think we have got a new nap schedule down and he has adjusted well all week long. he seems to be in a much better mood too...so no more me trying to get both kids down at the same time, it just doesn't work for them. so cole now has two 1 hour naps - one morning, one afternoon. works perfectly. they now both go down at 7ish for bed time- you ask why so early - well that's because they both get up at the crack of dawn - ha! jade is growing up so fast...we have been working on counting and she has succeded to 5 - wow! it made my heart melt -i was so excited for her. she also is working on her primary colors - and has blue, green, red and yellow down - oh wait, i can't forget pink- she loves that color! ha! she has a little people book that focuses on colors and counting - great book. we went potty on the big girl toilet the other day with nana, but nothing since then...no pressure...cole is standing up by himself...i think it should be any day that he takes his first step - no pressure on that either - i am fine with just the crawling right now = ha!
this weekend we don't have much planned, i work all day sunday. tonight i am headed to the movie, untraceable, with my sister. i have really wanted to see it. i also just finished a great book by james patterson- 6th target - but it was about kidnapping and now has caused me to worry! ahhhh...but the new james patterson just came out - 7th something...i think i will pick that up this weekend as well.
now, i am re-thinking the supervisor position at starbucks...i just don't know if i want the responsiblity (i just like coming and going) and the "not-so" flexible schedule...for only a $1 or so more...plus i don't want a career in retail management...joe is really pushing me to go for it, cause he thinks it will help my career when i try for starbucks corp - but frankly, i don't think they will care...hmm...we will see. there are 4 other girls that are wanting the position, and they have much more open schedules, so they will probably be first to be trained anyways...hmmm....i worked last night and the customers were just bugging me...i don't know why, but i wasn't in the mood to be "bright and cheery" -
my parents are in kauai for two weeks, and i talk to them daily - they hold the phone up to the ocean, so i can hear the waves- are they trying to make me envious? i think so! HA! i am happy for them, but how i dream of a vacation - some day!
