getaway recap

this last weekend joe and i had a little weekend getaway, made possible by my mom who drove up to stay with the kids. we had such a great time. we left early saturday and headed to bellingham. what a beautiful drive it is...and i am in love with fairhaven...right on the water, cool shops, restaurants, cafe's...we arrived just at lunchtime so we decided to walk around and find a place to eat. we ended up at a little pub called fullers, great atmosphere...watched a football game and headed to our hotel to check in...we stayed at a spa/resort and it was just beautiful. our room looked out to the water...so beautiful, had a great big window seat. we both got massages and then headed to dinner at the best steakhouse i have ever been too...dirty dan harris...wow! i had filet mignon and joe had a t-bone...again great ambiance! the next morning i had a facial, which i never had one before, and i think those can get quite addicting. it was wonderful! we had breakfast, got us coffee and took a long walk around the water...what a great, relaxing weekend. we ended the weekend by stopping by a unique toy store, grabbing a few toys, hitting the bakery next door for my mom and then headed home. the kids were excited to see us...cole wouldn't leave my side the whole rest of the day. my mom said the kids were great...she had to leave for awhile with kids in tow, cause a realtor stopped by with some clients, but again, no word on how that went.
now back to the grind, but what a great time we had!!!
